Lakewood
Sungha Jung Signature Model
There is a new model coming up in the Lakewood range, which we would like to introduce during the Frankfurt Musikmesse 2012 – the Sungha Jung Signature Guitar. Sungha Jung is from South Korea and most people know him through YouTube, where he achieved more than 425 million clicks within the last 6 years. The first video clips show him as a 10 year old who has been developing rapidly, though. For many people he seems a virtual person due to his Internet presence and virtual appearance, but he’s real indeed. In Asia he has nowadays almost got celebrity status while he’s recognized more and more in the rest of the world, where he grows to an important part of the acoustic music scene, as well.

For almost 4 years he’s been playing and loving Lakewood guitars now. We feel linked to him very closely and the connection to Ulli Bögershausen yielded extraordinary results. The two first albums i.e. were recorded in Germany together with Ulli. Now we would like to credit this relationship and therefore we created a Sungha Jung Signature guitar. It will enrich the model range of Lakewood Guitars and honor a very talented young musician.
From the outside you will first recognize this guitar by the signature inlay in the fingerboard. It has this stylized guitar drawing Sungha is doing often. Other than that the guitar is very pragmatic and sticks to basic features musicians often prefer in order to have a good “working horse”. Rosewood sides and back hold a AAA European spruce top. Body, neck and headstock are decorated with flamed maple bindings that are giving a light look to the instrument. An open-pored satin gloss finish and an L.R. Baggs Anthem System for premium amplified sound follow this very high-level practicability. Wouldn’t this guitar be perfect for your next YouTube video?
