Electric/acoustic guitarist and composer Andre Nieri is originally from Mogi Mirim, SP, Brazil. Due to the influence of Rock-N-Roll, Nieri started playing the guitar at the age of 9. He then fell in love with Jazz and MPB (Brazilian Urban Popular Music), which completely changed his teenage years, as these genres had had strong influence in the direction of Nieri’s career as a musician.

He then fell in love with Jazz and MPB (Brazilian Urban Popular Music), which completely changed his teenage years, as these genres had had strong influence in the direction of Nieri’s career as a musician.

Nieri graduated from the renowned Music Conservatory of Tatui, SP, Brazil, where he focused his studies on Jazz/MPB. During his formal training, he had the opportunity of studying he famous Brazilian artists such as Andre Marques, pianist with Hermeto Pascoal band, trio Curupira e Fabio Leal (solo) to mention a few.

Nieri became an expert in fingerpicking by mixing playing electric and acoustic guitars. This skill became his own unique professional brand.

In 2011, Neiri came in second at the Santo Angelo Vintage Times pioneer contest. However, during that same year, he was the winner of 5 guitar YouTube contests, of which 4 were international contests.

Today, besides being a private music teacher/tutor, he tours Brazil with his band, Popmind, is part of the Virgil Donati Band and is currently working on releasing his first solo-record, featuring a variety of genre influences.
