UK prog-rock outfit The Pineapple Thief have announced a string of European dates for early 2017 in support of their highly acclaimed new album, ‘Your Wilderness’. The band will be joined by virtuoso Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson) on drums.

UK prog-rock outfit The Pineapple Thief have announced a string of European dates for early 2017 in support of their highly acclaimed new album, ‘Your Wilderness’. The band will be joined by virtuoso Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson) on drums.

“We always said that we couldn’t imagine touring the material live without Gavin on stage”, explains band leader Bruce Soord, ”We’re so excited that we have made it happen. It’s a real once in a lifetime event.”

TPT were formed by Bruce as a platform for him to produce his own original music and were soon signed to the Cyclops label. In 2002 he was joined by longtime bandmate and university friend Jon Sykes on bass guitar.

Jon has been a fan of Fret-King and Vintage bass guitars for a long time owning both a Fret-King Perception bass and a Vintage V4MVW bass (that he has customised with a black scratch plate).

“The Vintage V4M is pretty much my favourite bass for live and recording at the moment,” says Jon. “But I sometimes need a 5-string so I’m eyeing up my next purchase…”

TPT kick off their European tour in Haarlem, Netherlands on 20th January.
